Today is the day. Our Lucy Mei is ONE! I don't even think I can summarize the last year of my life. We picked her name just over 24 hours before she was born. Lucy means "Light", and Mei is Chinese for "beautiful". She is truly a beautiful light, and we pray that she will grow more and more "into" her name, as she makes this journey in life!! We know that we are the blessed ones, and we are so honored to be able to share a bit of our blessings with others. As I said in the last blog, we had a panda themed birthday party for Lucy, and asked for people to donate to New Day Foster Home instead of bringing gifts. We are so inspired by the generousity of our friends and family, who gave over $500 in donations!!! Please take a minute to look at their website (see sidebar) to see how worthy of an organization they are. For our gift to Lucy, we have sponsored a child, also named Lucy (obviously picked her on purpose!) through NDFH. We are not allowed to post our own photos or information about her, but their blog (also linked on our sidebar) has a cute video of her as well as a bit of a bio about her on the website. We're excited to be able to pray for her growth and development along with our little Lucy.
Thank you to everyone who donated, and thanks to all who have prayed for us and continue to be supportive in all kinds of ways!
Daddy took the day off, so we're going to head to the zoo and try to feed the giraffes (something Tim has been looking forward to doing with his daughter since I was pregnant!). We're also going to pick up some yummy cupcakes (better than the ones I made) and try again for her to have her "first" cake! And most of all, we're going to bask in the warmth of God's love. Here is Daddy illegally petting the giraffe!
And here is our 2nd try to see Lucy's face.
