Miss Manners

I just love Lucy. :-) Here's how cute she was today. We were getting out of the car, and she picked up "Elmo", the noise making remote control, that is usually the car toy only. She kept saying "Elmo, Elmo" in a sad little voice...so I said sure you can bring Elmo in. After she kept showing me her toy and saying, "Elmo..." i realized that his noise making ability had died. So I said, "OH, Elmo needs new batteries!!" Lucy said "YES!". Ha. So I took out the old batteries, and Lucy is clapping her hands and squealing "yes". After I got the new batteries, and put them in and I was able to make an Elmo sound, she was so happy! She took the remote and then came to me and said "Mama....(pause)....Thanky." (I didn't use an exclamation mark, because she said it in the most sincere thankful voice, not in the squealy excitable voice she was using while I was putting the batteries in.) "You're Welcome sweet girl."

I'm thrilled with Lucy's manners. :-)
